All members affiliated to the Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners pay dues. The membership fee is calculated based on the vessels operated by the members. With effect from 1 January 2020, the new contribution scheme is in place. The old scheme remains in force for ships flying the Dutch flag that were already registered with the KVNR until 31 December 2019 and 500
The membership fee for ordinary members depend on the number of seagoing vessels that an ordinary member directly or indirectly owns or operates. These schemes are shown below.

Dutch-flagged ships 500 GT or larger
For seagoing ships flying the Dutch flag and registered with the KVNR for the first time on or after 1 January 2020, the membership fee for an ordinary member will be calculated on the following basis:
For each registered ship, the membership fee is calculated on the basis of a GT rate: €0,59466 per GT.
With a minimum amount of €1,189.32 per ship
With a maximum amount of €11,893.20 per ship
For non-Dutch-flagged ships 500 GT or larger, the standard membership fee is €1,189.32 per vessel.
For seagoing ships 499 GT or smaller, regardless the flag they fly, the standard membership fee is €594.66 per ship.
For calculating the membership fee of a seagoing vessel:
The first day of the next quarter following the day on which a seagoing vessel is registered with the KVNR, as the date of registration of the seagoing vessel in question.
The last day of the quarter in which a seagoing vessel is deregistered from the KVNR, as the date of deregistration of the seagoing vessel concerned.
Maximum annual fee:
The annual membership fee for an ordinary member is determined by adding up the membership fees of the seagoing vessels it has registered. For an ordinary member, the maximum annual contribution is € 206,347.02. The contribution share for non-Dutch-flagged ships has a maximum of € 59,466.00 on an annual basis.
Associate members
The contribution for associate members is based on the number of employees carrying out maritime activities within the organisation:
€ 1,367.40 for organisations with 2 or fewer employees
€2,734.80 for organisations with 3 to 9 employees
€5,946.60 for organisations with 10 to 49 employees
€8,919.90 for organisations with 50 to 249 employees
€ 11,893.20 for organisations with more than 250 employees
