Moving Forward Together: KVNR New Year's Reception 2025
Alone you go faster but you get further together!
This motto, nicked for the occasion from the former chairman of NML Netherlands Maritime Land (NML) is a partnership within the maritime sector. It brings together businesses, governments, and knowledge institutions to strengthen the maritime industry. , Rob Verkerk, is not only indicative of the sector but also of a high importance precisely in these times of geopolitical tensions and major transitions.
“Together for us is a very broad term. Together for us is with other shipowners (at national, European and international level), other logistics players, entrepreneurs broadly, financers, NGOs, the people in offices and on board the ships, etc., etc., etc.”
The perfect maritime future
Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome nearly 300 guests to the KVNR's New Year's reception. A great and diverse turnout! The reception was opened by Annet Koster with the aforementioned words as well as a brief reflection on the bizarre times we find ourselves in today. After which, guest speaker and brand-new chairman of NML, Bas Buchner, took the stage.
He took us through his ideal maritime future, one in which innovation and collaboration are pivotal. His words set the tone for the rest of the evening, during which we had plenty of discussions about the opportunities and possibilities within the sector.
The joint toast marked not only the beginning of an enjoyable evening, but also the official start of 2025! We would like to thank everyone once again for their presence, enthusiasm and inspiring conversations.
